Presseschau: Berufungsurteil im LuxLeaks-Prozess

Fabio De Masi war am 15.03.2017 in Luxemburg zur Urteilsverkündung gegen die LuxLeaks Whistleblower Antoine Deltour, Raphael Halet und den Journalisten Edouard Perrin, die schmutzige Steuerdeals für Konzerne offen legten. Über das Urteil berichtet die Presse und zitiert Fabio De Masi

"[...] Auch zur Urteilsverkündung hatten sich zahlreiche Personen und Organisationen solidarisch gezeigt. Sie hatten sich kurz vor der Gerichtssitzung vor dem Gebäude versammelt. Es wurden Reden gehalten, es wurde gesungen. Zu den Unterstützern zählten unter anderem die „Jonk Lénk“, „support-antoine.org“, „Parti communiste“ aus Frankreich, der französische Gewerkschaftsbund CGT und „attac“ Frankreich.  [...] 

Auch Fabio de Masi, Linken-Europaabgeordneter, betonte, dass egal, was passiere, man bis zum Schluss hinter den Whistleblowern stehen werde und sie sogar bis zum Europäischen Gerichtshof begleite, falls es so weit komme. Denn es reiche nicht, diesen Menschen auf die Schulter zu klopfen, sondern man brauche Aktionen, um sie zu schützen. "

“The European Commission has failed to propose a framework for the protection of whistleblowers despite repeated calls by the European Parliament and concrete suggestions on the table. This is also a personal responsibility of Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker who promised at the LuxLeaks committee hearing in 2015 to address the question at European level – without result so far.“
“Our parliamentary group will request the topic again to be put on the next plenary agenda and maximise pressure on the Commission. We will support Deltour and Halet in any further legal steps – also at the level of European courts.” [...]"
